Hoel Durand – Singer Of Songs

Born and raised in North East England, Hoel began his career in the Newcastle band, Haven, where he was the lead singer and main songwriter. After this Hoel moved south, establishing himself on the London acoustic scene in the early 2000’s. There he wrote and recorded a batch of songs, which led to him being signed to Liverpool’s Chromium Records as a solo artist.

In 2006 Hoel released two singles under the Chromium label, ‘Close Your Eyes.’ and ‘Tonight.’

He returned to Newcastle for a couple of months soon after and worked on new material with The Minotaurs, out of their studio in South Shields and also played rhythm guitar for The Blame at this time.

In 2007 Hoel emigrated to Australia establishing himself as a cover artist. He began playing regular shows around northern NSW and South East Queensland, covering all types of events. Weddings, private dinner parties, care homes, cafes, pubs, organic vegetable paddocks. He’s done it all!

He now finds himself in Healesville, in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, entertaining guests at many of the wineries the region has to offer.

Hoel loves to sing songs with classic melodies from the past 70 years of music that you’re sure to know and love, from artists including; The Beatles, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Cyndi Lauper, Taylor Swift, Coldplay, R.E.M. Crowded House, John Lennon, Van Morrison, Radiohead, John Mayer, Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed, Ryan Adams, Elton John, Father John Misty and many many more.
