Bio and Statement
James and Betty Robinson have a passion for creating, that shows up in many forms. The mosaic works are the most prominent creations, made completely from scrap material destined for landfill. Mosaic is an ancient art form, and Betty and James each have their own unique style and approach in their artistic expression. Betty is very freeform, working in the moment and with the creative current, moving pieces of tile as she goes to build each piece, whereas James is more precise and formulaic in his approach. Thei main source is materials is from the tip shops, as well as donated broken crockery from friends along the way. Animals and nature feature prominently in their work, reflecting their love of the environment and all living things.
