When you blend the rich, soulful vocal tones with the vibrant, percussive timbre of a guitar, you get Karrie Hayward – a pop infused, indie-edge, kaleidoscope of melodic colours. Karrie just announced the second offering “Centrepiece” off her upcoming EP titled Ephemeral. After settling down into Brisbane, Karrie headed to Blind Boy Studios at the Gold Coast to record some tracks with producer, engineer and session musician, Brad Hosking. Creating an array of progressive stories stems the new single, ‘Centrepiece’, a dreamy, idealistic anthem. Delving into weaving sonic hooks, tangible body percussion and radiant bass grooves, this sweet love story expresses the ups and downs in a relationship. Karrie’s previous single, ‘Going To The Grave’, also off the upcoming EP, received a number of spins on respected Australian radio stations including weeks with Roots N All on Triple J. The song sat in the Triple J Unearthed charts for over a month as well as climbing into the iTunes Singer-Songwriter charts.
